What is the Patient Portal?
The Patient Portal is a secure, modern web-app designed to act as the digital front door to your pharmacy. Unlike a generic health platform, the portal is specific to your organisation, meaning patients sign up directly to your brand to manage their clinical journey with you.
While the Deltera platform allows for "guest checkout" bookings as standard, the Patient Portal provides a much more integrated and personalised experience for your regulars.

The primary goal of the portal is to remove friction from the healthcare journey. Once a patient registers for your pharmacy’s portal, they gain several immediate advantages:
- Faster Booking Flow: Patients no longer have to fill out their basic information (name, date of birth, address, GP details) every time they book. Once they are logged in, these details are pre-filled, making the "checkout" process incredibly fast.
- Data Persistence: If a patient updates their personal information—such as a change in their repeat medications or a new allergy—they only need to do it once. This updated information is then automatically applied to every future booking they make.
- A Personal Health Archive: The portal serves as a long-term storage hub for the patient’s clinical history. They can view all past appointments, which is particularly useful for keeping track of vaccination history or previous weight management progress.

Note: By default, Deltera uses a "Guest Checkout" model. This ensures that new patients can book a one-off service as quickly as possible without the barrier of creating an account. However, during that guest journey, the system will invite them to register for the portal to "save their details for next time," transitioning one-off visitors into loyal, long-term patients.
