Pharmacy walk-in - the patient has not completed the pre-screen
How to start a consultation with a walk-in patient who has not completed the pre-screen. The pre-screen process is designed to save pharmacy staff time by having patient details entered before the consultation.
If the patient has a booking
Note: This is only for organisations using Deltera Appointments / Services Diary.
Using the Appointments Dashboard
This view provides a quick list of all upcoming appointments, sorted chronologically.
- Navigate to Dashboard > Appointments.
- Check the Pre-screen column. If the patient has not completed their form, the status will show as 'Not complete'.
- To complete the pre-screen with them, click Complete pre-screen and follow the steps. At the end of this, you will be able to start the consultation.
If the patient does not have a booking
This works for all organisations using Deltera.
Option 1: Direct the patient to complete the pre-screen on their phone
Please ask the patient to complete the pre-screen immediately.
- Navigate to the In Pharmacy > Booking Menu section of the system.
- Locate the relevant QR codes for each service, as well as the master ‘catch-all’ QR code.
- Ask the patient to scan the appropriate QR code and complete the pre-screen on their device.
- At the end of this they will be given a reference code. You can now follow the steps for Patient completed pre-screen.

Option 2: Create a New Appointment and Send Pre-Screen Link
If the patient cannot complete the pre-screen immediately but you wish to book them for a specific time and send them the pre-screen link:
- Navigate to Dashboard > Appointments.
- Click the 'New Appointment' button.

- Fill in the required appointment information, including the date and time. You may use the Preview Calendar function if needed to check your availability.

- Select the service the patient requires and add their patient information.
- Upon saving the new appointment, the patient will automatically receive an email containing the appointment confirmation and a direct link to complete the pre-screen.
Option 3: Complete the pre-screen with them
If the patient is unable to complete the pre-screen themselves, you may, as a last resort, assist them by completing the pre-screen on their behalf.
- Refer to the Complete pre-screen for patient page for detailed information on how to complete the pre-screen process.
